The main question of the present article is whether Avista as the most important literary text of ancient Persia is a product of the Sassanid era, or writing of the book dates back to the life span of Zoroaster. There are two different answers to the question. According to the first, Avista existed in oral form and then was written in the Sassanid era when Avistan alphabet was coined. According to the second, however, Avista had been a written literary text since Zoroaster which was destroyed as a result of Alexander’s invasion of Persia. To examine the two answers, the article used the library research method with a focus on primary and secondary documents. The first answer is critiqued before the second is confirmed based on documentation. Next it is claimed that the special attention to Avista during the Sassanid dynasty was accounted for by the necessity of compiling fragmented Avista’s texts in order to establish an official religion in harmony with the Sassanid centralized government.}, keywords = {Avista,Literary Text,oral narratives,official religion}, title_fa = {اوستا: متنی مکتوب یا سنتی شفاهی؟}, abstract_fa = {تاریخ ادبیات هر ملت تاریخ واقعی آن ملت را منعکس می‌کند. با این همه، این مسئله مطرح است که چرا دولت ایران در عهد باستان به منزله یکی از دو ابرقدرت بزرگ جهانی زمانه مطرح بوده اما سنت ادبی‌اش، هم‌وزن این سنت سیاسی نبوده است. پرسش اصلی مقاله حاضر این است که: آیا اوستا در مقام مهم‌ترین متن ادبی ایران باستان محصول عهد ساسانی است یا کتابت آن را باید متعلق به دوره حیات زرتشت دانست؟ در پاسخ به این پرسش، دو دیدگاه اصلی وجود دارد: دیدگاه نخست می‌گوید اوستا از ابتدا صورت شفاهی داشته و سپس در عهد ساسانی با ابداع خط اوستایی به نگارش درآمده است. دیدگاه دوم می‌گوید اوستا از زمان حیات زرتشت به صورت متن ادبی درآمده و نسخه‌های مکتوب آن با حمله اسکندر به ایران از میان رفته است. برای بررسی این دو دیدگاه از روش مطالعه اسناد کتاب‌خانه‌ای با تمرکز بر اسناد دست اول و دست دوم استفاده شد. در این مقاله، دیدگاه نخست نقد می‌شود و دیدگاه دوم بر اساس مستندات تأیید می‌گردد. سپس گفته می‌شود که علت توجه ویژه به اوستا در عهد ساسانی ضرورت گردآوری و تدوین متون پراکنده اوستا در جهت تأسیس دین رسمی هماهنگ با دولت متمرکز ساسانی بوده است.}, keywords_fa = {اوستا,متن ادبی,روایت شفاهی,دین رسمی}, url = {https://adyan.urd.ac.ir/article_105065.html}, eprint = {https://adyan.urd.ac.ir/article_105065_40398fecf0ef78c238dc0c83e6c678dd.pdf} }
