According to Edwards, the blessed’ awareness of the suffering of the damned not only explains divine justice but also deepens their pleasure and satisfaction. By contrast, Schleiermacher challenges this view by appealing to concepts such as divine mercy, human dignity, and psychological conflict. Employing an interpretive method and an analytical-critical approach, this article elucidates the theoretical foundations of both views and examines their epistemological, ethical, and theological limits and implications. The findings of the study indicate that, despite their epistemological and theological differences, both views face conceptual shortcomings in providing a comprehensive and just account of the relations among the inhabitants of the afterlife. Accordingly, the article argues that rethinking the meaning and possibility of eschatological blessedness requires a more comprehensive alternative framework that integrates justice, mercy, and awareness. این مقاله با هدف بررسی و به چالش کشیدن دیدگاه‌های متقابل جاناتان ادواردز و شلایرماخر در یکی از حوزه های فلسفه دین یعنی رابطه میان ساکنان بهشت و جهنم، نگاشته شده است. ادواردز بر این باور است که آگاهی ساکنان بهشت از عذاب گناهکاران در جهنم نه تنها نشان‌دهنده عدالت الهی است، بلکه موجب افزایش شادی آنان نیز می‌شود. در مقابل، شلایرماخر و دیگر منتقدان، این دیدگاه را با مفاهیمی همچون رحمت الهی، اخلاق انسانی و عدالت متعارف ناسازگار می‌دانند و آن را از منظر روان‌شناختی و اخلاقی نقد می‌کنند. این تحقیق با روش توصیفی- تحلیلی و رویکردی انتقادی، استدلال‌های هر دو گروه را بررسی و پیامدهای الهیاتی، اخلاقی و روان‌شناختی این دیدگاه‌ها را تحلیل می‌کند. در این راستا، ضمن ارائه دلایل طرفین، تلاش شده است تا تأثیر این دیدگاه‌ها بر فهم عدالت و رحمت الهی و معنای خوشبختی اخروی روشن شود. نتایج این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که هر دو دیدگاه در تفسیر عدالت الهی و نحوه ارتباط میان ساکنان بهشت و جهنم دچار محدودیت‌هایی هستند. این مقاله استدلال می‌کند که ادواردز و شلایرماخر، با وجود اختلاف نظر، هر یک در ارائه تصویری جامع از عدالت الهی ناکام مانده‌اند. https://adyan.urd.ac.ir/article_236029_b10b1cd8adae4356c7de6f5f1e9f0ae5.pdf
