An analysis on the theory of rationality and spirituality

Abstract

One of the important issues in the study of religion is relationship between religion and modernity. One of the theories in this field is the theory of "rationality and spirituality" posed by Professor Mustafa Malekiyan. In this article, authors try to give a clear image of the theory through his different works, being published in the past 13 years. Then, the theory has been analyzed and the basics and one of the consequences of the theory have been discussed; basics are: rationality, spirituality, ideal life and authentic life. This theory entails rejection of traditional religion, even though theorist doesn't agree with it; authors try to show how the theory's idea results to this rejection
