This article deals with the recognition of the situation of the female concept in Manichaeism and the position of Chosen women and Manichaean female missionaries, and in some places, the relationship between Manichaean female missionary delegations and the method and training in Manichaean missionary. The article here shows how myths about the role and function of goddesses, as well as the position of saint women in Manichean history, might have inspired Manichaean women. The article examines the life history of two Manichaean missionary women named Bassa of Lydia in Asia Minor and Julia of Antioch in Syria. The former went to Salona, Dalmatia, in present-day Croatia and the latter went to Gaza in present-day Lebanon to promote Manichaeism. This article has a textual approach and sometimes tries to benefit from the results of archaeological studies or historical sources. The evidence of this writing shows that Manichaean view of women was more positive than that of Zoroastrianism during the Sasanian era or Christianity in Rome. These documents also show that Manichaean women were not hermits and that both Hearers and Chosen women and religious missionaries had a strong presence in the society in different fields. History of Manichaeism testifies that Chosen women have been so influential in spreading the religion that even the Christian enemies of Manichaeism made them react harshly.
