The order of the Amesha Spentas in the Middle Persian and Younger Avestan texts is not identical to their arrangement in the Gathas, a notable difference that is evident. This mentioned distinction lies solely in their sequence; not only is there no discrepancy in the meaning and function of the Amesha Spentas across these texts, but there is also a precise and particular adherence in the Middle Persian texts to the Gathic principles concerning them. It appears that the order in the Middle Persian texts can be analyzed based on the microcosmical dimension of the Amesha Spentas in the ascending journey of the rational soul, thereby providing a logical answer to the question of their sequence. The reason for the specific Gathic order can be answered by considering the meanings of an ancient and fundamental symbol. A solution can be found through a framework proposed by contemporary sages like René Guénon and Frithjof Schuon regarding the structure of the symbol of the three-dimensional cross and the stations of wisdom. The aim of the present article, written using an analytical-descriptive method, is to answer why the Amesha Spentas appear in an order in the Gathas that is apparently not fully adhered to in the Middle Persian texts.
