The anthropology of Johannes Scottus Eriugena, a prominent scholar of the Carolingian Renaissance, is derived from the innovative combination of the philosophical opinions of the Latin and Greek Neoplatonic fathers, which is based on his interpretations of the narratives of the creation of the Torah. Imago Dei or man in the divine image according to Eriugena is the supreme human being, which he calls the created wisdom, and human nature, which is a symbol of the creator's wisdom.Eriugena changes the metaphysical history of creation by assuming that the external man has not yet achieved the position of the divine image or depicts man's attainment of this nature as an afterthought and depends on his intellectual dialectic and faith behavior; Therefore, unlike Latin theology, he does not consider man as separate from his nature and emphasizes more on the will of salvation. The finding unique to this research is related to the description of human animality. While the human animality in Eriugena's opinion does not conflict with the divine form of man, many researchers of his works have mistakenly associated animality with the fallen state of man and neglected the paradisiacal individuality of man in the animal species .
